In theory, I agree with that, and the logic works. Like the Internet itself, this is, in theory, just another tool, a technology.

But I'm seeing more and more people delegate critical thinking, bit by bit, to these things. The "feel" of malevolence from that alone—not necessarily the intent of the LLMs, but rather the sense that people are offloading their intellect, or opening up their intellects to some outside force—is deeply unsettling.
