Twenty dollars and a fence

boccaderlupoI dreamed we had gotten change from a register, a $20 American bill that for some reason had an image of Elizabeth II on it. It was commemorative, in some way, and dated 1970, but we couldn't find much information about it online. We went to the post office, a cavernous, Neoclassical space, to see if we it was somehow worth more, as a collectible, than twenty bucks, but then only offered to exchanged the faded bill for a crisper, more modern equivalent. We held onto it, vowing to do more research.

I dreamed my wife, daughter, and I were sitting on a platform on a chain-link fence in my late maternal grandmother's backyard. My wife was dozing off. My daughter and I beheld what we took to be a large seagull hurtling into a tree in the neighboring yard. Don't wake Mommy, I told my daughter (my wife is an avid bird aficionado), as it's only a seagull. The bird emerged from the tree where it was tangled up and landed right alongside my wife on the fence. Turned out it was a golden eagle, magnificent, beaming. My wife continued to sleep soundly. I urged my daughter to take photos of the visitor, and she stealthily did so. Then the eagle soared off.
