I dreamed I was visiting a good friend of mine in Brooklyn who recently got married. He is a good guy, but of the managerial class, and his main skill is "managing," which is more or less directing people to perform tasks, and he sneakily tries to incorporate this "management" into many of his interactions. In the dream, he had invited all his friends over his house for a "party." The theme of this "party" was to clean out his sock drawer, which was a huge cabinet (how many socks can one man have?) Our long-suffering group of friends, amazingly, all attended, removing the guys' socks one pair and at a time, and sweeping out the yawning drawers while our friend looked on gleefully.

"I'm 'one-and-done' on this one," I told him begrudgingly, grinning. And I meant it.

I dreamed we went to see a game at the new stadium for the New York Metropolitan Baseball Club. Strangely, they had installed a large dumpster out in right field, and it become part of the ground rules there: any ball hit into the dumpster's open mouth was an automatic double, whereas a ball that might get trapped underneath it or wedged against the wall was live. Needless to say, every batter aimed for the dumpster, with many landing the balls directly into the dumpster, and many others getting lodged in the various tight spaces around and behind it. At one point, the entire team was on the field struggling to lift the dumpster to get at a ball that had rolled under it, as runners rounded the bases endlessly.

"They really ought to get rid of that dumpster," I said aloud to no one in particular.
