The Divine Economy

The natural economy is one of give and take: what is gain for one is often a loss for another. That which brings life to one may bring death to others. The pendulum swings ceaselessly in this sublunar realm of generation and decay.
In the divine economy, Love only grows. It is not diminished by loving, but rides upon the swells of the deep, ever rising. Love, which is of the Good and Being, is therefore super-natural.

For in the cosmos, the created world, the everyday world of time and space that we inhabit, there is undoubtedly a great amount of evil. It's a question that is central to our existence here. This is the nature of the fallen world—thus the "natural economy" I refer to. But we distinguish between the things of Earth and the things of Heaven, the latter of which is the "super-natural economy" of Divine Love mentioned above, which generated the time and space so familiar to us...the one so filled with observable defect. The fact that we perceive such defect suggests that we on some deep level know that things ought to be otherwise—which is the fundamental Christian hope that, at the end of all ages, despite all the tremendous brutality and depravity in the cosmos, all things will ultimately be restored and recapitulated in the One—the will of Heaven made fully manifest on Earth.
Again, such an answer may be unsatisfying, especially when we regard the immediacy of the horrors around us. But it's the best I've got.

That being said, I do agree that our knowing it is wrong speaks to a higher truth. It does bring up the question of psychopaths who have no such connection to morality.
I think my greatest evidence for a higher degree of love comes from near death experiencers who always state a "home coming" of sorts to a celestial realm

All blessings to you and your divine pursuit, and Axé.
