That tree on the side of the road

I dreamed I was visiting with a contractor of ours who kind of resembles a villain from an Indiana Jones picture. The guy was living somewhere in a windswept, depopulated area of the Hudson Valley. We met at a falling-apart bar that had a sort of Wild West saloon feel, and he began talking enthusiastically about a type of low, boxy motorcycle he had used to get there. I know nothing about motorcycles, but I politely nodded along, not wanting to seem uncool. He showed me the bike, which looked like it had been assembled out of Legos, and had three low, strangely blue lights on the front. He offered to let me drive it, and I of course took him up on it, again not wanting to be uncool.
Amazingly, I could pilot the thing effortlessly, and drove it up the road some before pulling to the side. The Contractor ran up, breathless, thumbs up. He began gesturing to where I had ended up: a kind of notch in a hillside that overlooked the road, and was framed by an innocuous-looking tree. The Contractor began speaking glowingly of the tree, and indicate a sort of crawlspace behind it. Climbing up, he showed how he was just able to fit in there.
This is his favorite vantage point, he explained. The tree offers perfect concealment for when he wanted to lay in wait by the side of the road and shoot at people.
With that, I woke up.
