Evil dreams

boccaderlupoI dreamed I was trying to set up my laptop while I was on the road, and I found my way into a cavernous, well-light auto garage. I had to run some of the wires through what appeared to my untrained eye to be a bright orange, '70s-era Camaro, heavy metal and sharp lines. I had finished hooking up everything and settling in when a mustachioed mechanic, Southern guy in a faded baseball cap, came into the room waggling a finger. He popped the hood of the car and touched something in the engine and it roared to life. Obviously this was a work zone, and couldn't accommodate me nerding around on a computer. I unplugged everything and left.
I found myself in an upscale bar restaurant with dark neon lighting and numerous aquariums built in the walls. It was a Korean restaurant, and I began setting up at one of the tables, appropriate distance from the rest of the patrons, all that. I then learned from the server that the family who had owned this chain (for this was merely one of many such restaurants) had all committed suicide en masse (it was a large family) as a sacrifice to a strange, tentacled squid god. In one of the aquariums opposite me, a squid began to wriggled and whirl, blooming into a cloud of many eyeballs, rubbery limbs, and sharp knifes that would emerge from folds in its skin. It slowly enveloped all the other fish and all the water, and began pushing at the very walls of the aquarium itself...

I dreamed I had left my laptop on a subway I normally took into New York City. (In real life, I don't take a subway into New York City). There were throngs of people in the subway station, but I slipped down a poorly lit stairwell and onto the subway train from the opposite direction of everybody else, who was departing the cars on the other side, and began my search.
